Tignes, France Splitboard Intro course

Our Splitboard Intro course is the perfect start to your Backcountry adventures. Get introduced to techniques, gear you need and how to use it. Understand the mountains and learn how to travel safely in the backcountry. 

This week is for intermediate to experienced riders that want to have either a brush up and/or get a good introduction to safe backcountry riding. 

This is NOT for beginner snowboarders!
 

A good level of fitness and at least 5-6 weeks of snowboarding experience is recommended.

  Perfect your technique on splitboard ascents and decents in couloirs, trees and steeps, be at ease on all-different types of slopes and snow conditions.

The guides will provide advice on technique, while respecting your individual style. 

Our guides will find the best snow conditions for you EVERY day. You will be guided in groups of max. 6 persons 6 days of the week. 

You will stay in an appartment with upto 6 persons where you will be able to cook all meals. 

After dinners we will do different clinics/talks every night if you still have the energy!

8.30am Meet to check equipment and weather forecast

9am-5pm Go Splitboarding

9.30-10.30pm Snow Class or other activity
 

Day 8 Saturday
Check out time at 10h00.

Your guides speak English, German, French, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish.
 

You will be in the mountains all day. So layer up. Bring a facemask!
 

Beacon, Shovel & Probe is a must have on all our trips and a minimum knowledge of use is good to have. But we will run a few beacon clinics during your trip. If you don't own this you can rent from us. Book in advance!
 

You will receive an equipment packing list shortly after your deposit has arrived in our account.

Normally we advice you to fly to either Geneva, Lyon, Chambery or Grenoble. And get a transfer or public transport.
 

By Road:

WARNING GPS : Warning, if you use a GPS, it may advise you to go through the Petit Saint Bernard or Iseran pass. Remember that these passes are closed in winter!
 

Parking on arrival
A car-free resort is a resort that can breathe! Therefore, in Tignes, your car stays in the car park. Park your car in one of the car parks near your accommodation and take the free shuttle! Fees are payabale from November 28th 2022 to May 1st 2023.
 

By Rail:
Daily trains, TGV, Eurostar and Thalys arrive in Bourg St Maurice (nearest train station = 30km from Tignes).
Your trip on the SNCF website.
For your transfer to Tignes from the train station, you can either take/book a taxi or take/book a bus.
 

By Bus:
The bus transportation is provided through regular bus lines from Bourg St Maurice, Chambery or Geneva airports, Lyon or Grenoble.
